“Within every moment of thought you should see yourself that your fundamental nature is pure. You should cultivate for yourself, practice for yourself, and accomplish for yourself the enlightenment of Buddhahood.” – Huineng (638-713)
Empty Circle Meditation welcomes everyone who has an interest in coming together to support each other in calming the mind. Together, we work to realize our own True Nature amidst the flood of information and thinking that is our everyday life. We practice zazen (Zen meditation) to develop this awareness, bringing attention and mindfulness to everything we do. In this way, we can free ourselves from unproductive negative perceptions and begin to realize interconnectedness.
Empty Circle is facilitated by David Ryūmon Dahl, a Soto Zen Priest and a student of Sanshinji. Ryūmon has 12 years of formal practice and was ordained in 2016. Ryūmon lives locally, is a parent of three daughters, and currently serves as a psychotherapist specializing in trauma.
Meditation is held every Sunday 3:15pm – 5pm (3pm for instruction/doors open) 2 periods of zazen (seated meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), brief discussion on a Buddhist teaching, donations are welcome but not required.
